The Heartless had dispersed into the air and the black mist surrounded Jake and Cloudie as they stood in the center of it all.
Jake slowly opened his eyes only to notice the keyblade in his hand. It gave off such a brilliant light and the pulse of it’s power could be felt by holding it’s handle.
His eyes shot opened.” Wha…What is this?” he said with a shaky voice.
Cloudie opened her eyes. She glanced left to right before noticing the Keyblade. Her grip on Jake’s hoodie loosen as she gazed upon his weapon. “The Keyblade…” She said in awe.
Jake turned around and focusing his attention on Cloudie. “ No way…Are you serious?”
She nodded her head. She couldn’t believe what had transpired. If she didn’t crash land here, she would have never found the keybearer.
Jake looked away and lowered his head, his eyebrows were drawn together in a puzzled look.
“Maybe this is some kind of mistake.”
Suddenly figures began to form from the darkness and surrounded Jake and Cloudie once more. Cloudie gasped, raising her hand up to her mouth. The creatures seemed relentless and more powerful, dragging the darkness with them as they crawled closer to them.
Cloudie’s back push up against Jake’s back and they stared at the heartless. His heart thumped frantically in his chest. “ This can’t be happening.”
Cloudie pulled out her weapon and placed it on her arm. It was a mechanical mobile weapon that was very easy to fight with and she knew some martial art skills thanks to Tifa.
“ We have no choice, we have to fight!” Cloudie said standing in a defensive stance,
Jake gripped his Keyblade tighter before he took a defensive stance.
Before long Jake and Cloudie were battling the Heartless. Each of them launching massive blows on the Shadowy creatures.
So many thoughts flew through Jake’s mind as he fought back against the Heartless.
Is it true?
Am I a Keybearer?
How’s that possible?
What the hell is going on?
Jake grunted, swinging his keyblade at several Heartless. He took them out with one blow, unleashing his anger and confusion upon them. Cloudie watched him for a second before spinning around to recognize the Heartless behind her. She swung her weapon at them, releasing a beam of light, causing them to disappear into the air.
A shadow shifted across the building wall and behind Cloudie, coming to a stop. It’s bright yellow eyes watched her before rising up from the ground.
Jake turned around, sensing the Heartless behind him. His eye’s widen, “ Behind you!”
Cloudie spun around, seeing the heartless motion his attack. She raised her weapon, hopefully blocking the attack.
The heartless was about to pounce on her when suddenly the keyblade slashed it in half. Cloudie’s eyes widen as she gasped.
Jake huffed as he caught the keyblade. “ This has to end now!”
Cloudie’s eyes found themselves staring up at the brown haired boy. He didn’t seem to be himself and he didn’t look so good either.
Jake paused and whirled around, feeling something brush against his back. With the whisk of his keybalde he unleashed an enormous attack killing every heartless in sight.
“Jake!” Cloudie shouted before being blinded by the light from his attack.
Light surrounded them before fading out. The creatures from the darkness disappeared and Jake was still standing there, gasping for air. The keyblade faded away from his side before he collapsed on the floor. Cloudie gasped and ran to his aid.
“ Jake!” She shouted hoping he’ll wake up.
A creaking noise caught her attention. She sharply turned her head.” Who’s there?”
I have no choice…
I’ll have to accept my destiny…
“Jake…please wake up.” A soft feminine voice said.
Jake opened his eyes. His friends stood all around him. “Where am I?”
Kyle sat beside him,” We found you collapsed on the floor and we brought you to Jason’s house.”
Jake sighed, his eyes drifted around the blue walls of Jason’s room. The sound of the ocean fading away in to the background. The light from the open window formed patterns across the walls. The room felt peaceful to Jake.
“Are you alright?” Jason’s eyebrows rose in concern.
Jake slightly smiled and nodded his head.” Yeah I’m fine.” He placed his hand on his forehead before he pushed himself up to sit.
‘It’s about time.” Cloudie began.” I thought you would never wake up.”
Before Jake could say anything Cloudie leaned in, smiling.” I wouldn’t want you dying on me.”
“Shut it.” Jake whined.
Jason and the others watched and smiled. They were glad he was back to normal.
“So what brings you to this place?” Rika eyed Cloudie angrily. “ I’ve never seen you here before.”
Cloudie sighed and rubbed the back of her neck before she took a seat in one of the chairs located in Jason’s room. A smile formed across her lips and she began explaining.
“ My name is Cloudie Ann Strife. I come from the world called Radiant Garden or Hollow Bastion if you prefer.”
Jason’s eyes widen in fascination, “ No way…Hollow Bastion!”
She slightly smiled, “ That’s right, Hollow Bastion.” She continued. “ I went on a journey to find someone important to me, but then I had to crash land here because of mechanical problems within my gummi ship.”
She paused, feeling somewhat awkward about the whole thing. She lowered her head and closed her eyes for a moment.
“ And because your looking for a Keyblade Master.” Jason said breaking Cloudie out of her thoughts and brining her back to reality.
“ What!?” Rika said as she almost lost her balance.
Kyle watched as Rika regained her balance before the thought finally struck her in her mind. She gripped the sheet of the bed. “ A keybearer…” She frowned. “Is it true?”
Jake’s eyes widen before he lowered them. He looked at his hand. “ I couldn’t believe it either.”
“ But you can’t deny it .” Cloudie responded.
Jake took a deep breath in. He raised his arm in front of him and suddenly the keyblade flashed into his hand as if it was nothing. The flash of the keyblade caught everyone’s attention. Their eyes were astonished by what they were seeing.
“ So what is it that you want from me?” Jake asked as he got up from his bed, placing the keyblade on his side.
Cloudie smiled, “ It looks like I have some explaining to do.”
Several hours had passed since Cloudie told them her explanation. They all had agreed to join her on her journey . The sky had fallen dark with a hint of blue, signaling the approach of the festival. Jake waited for his friends on the boardwalk that connected Prawn and Sunshell Island together. The air greeted Jake, flying through the strands of his hair. It felt good not to worry about what happen today.
“ Jake!”
The boy turned around towards the voice. It was Kyle who motion a wave towards him. She smiled and ran over to him. It also wasn’t long before Jason and Rika joined them.
During the festival, Cloudie was working on her gummi ship. She found herself looking up at the night sky from time to time to see the neon lights from the festival. Her eyes stared blankly at her tools.
I have to get this done if not…We won’t be able to set off. She thought to herself.
Memo stood on top of the gummi ship, staring down upon his master. His eyes focused only on her.
Cloudie looked up and smiled, “ Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.”
Several minutes later Jake and his friends were enjoying the festival to it’s fullest extent. They all had gone to buy cotton candy when suddenly Jason had an idea.
“ We should invite Cloudie to come and join us. I’m sure she’ll like it.”
Kyle smiled a bit after she chugged down a piece of her cotton candy. “ That’s a great idea!”
Rika gave a quick glance to Jason before she sampled her cotton candy. “ but doesn’t she have work to do on her gummi ship.” She said sarcastically.
Jason scratched his head and smiled, “ I’m sure she wouldn’t mind. Right Jake.”
Jake looked at Jason almost choking on his cotton candy. “ I guess.”
“ Great, let’s go get her.” Jason said laughing,
The gang headed over to where Cloudie was at. It didn’t take too long to find her due to the massive damage she caused when she crashed her ship.
Tools clanged around as Cloudie tossed items from left to right. “ Damn it.” Her eyes twitched in anger. “ I don’t know what’s wrong! I don’t even have the right tools!”
“ Calm down.”
Cloudie looked up noticing Jason and the others. “ What are you doing here?”
Jason smiled and handed her his cotton candy. “ We came to see how you were doing and invite you to join us in the festival.”
She took the cotton candy and blushed,” But you know I can’t. I have to work.”
Jason laughed. “ You worry too much. Besides we all agreed to help you in any way we can after the festival’s over. No matter how tired we are.”
Jake and Rika moaned and groaned while Kyle slightly smiled. They didn’t like the idea but they were willing to help.
“ There’s also a special meaning for today.” Jason continued. “ Eight years ago we made a promise to each other.”
“ A promise?” She repeated
“ We promised to never forget it and since your part of the team it’s only right to let you in.” Jason said as he lifted his hand and handed it out to Cloudie.
“Will you join us?”
She hesitated for a moment before placing her hand in his. “ Alright then…”
Uploading the promise I made on that fateful day….
